how much clearance does a 30 inch door need to open

The DreamLine SHDR-20247210F door will need whatever range you pick. If it is a 30" door then it will need 30", 24" will need 24" to swing.

I have a finished opening of 29.5 at the bottom and 30 inches at the top . What size door do i need to order.

The 30" size door would fit your needs

I would like to keep the non hinge side of the door opening free of the L shaped door stop in a 25 1/4" shower opening. Will the door close and stay put without the L shaped bracket? I can tolerate a gap between the door and the wall, as long as the door will stay closed.

The DreamLine SHDR-20247210F is designed to be self closing, without the L Shaped Bracket to stop the door you could cause higher than normal wear and tear on the hinges and shorten their expected life span.

If your finished opening is 29", what size should I order? 28" or 29"?

Is it available in frosted glass?

How does it seal, sides & bottom? I would think water would get outside on the floor.

Yes that is correct. The trim along the sides will take up a small amount of space & you still need the door to be able to swing. You should be fine with the 26" door.

I would like the hinges open both inward and outward. Can you provide that kind of hinges? That kind of plan eliminates the L-shape door stop.

The DreamLine SHDR-20247210F is frame less with self closing hinges. This doesn't come with hinges that open both ways.

'Rough Opening' refers to the unfinished wall opening, when wood is still exposed. 'Finished Opening' refers to when wall is done, with backer board and tile installed.

The finished opening size for a 26 inch shower door is 26 inch. There is a 1/8" of adjustment that can be made when installing this shower door. The rough opening size will vary so only the finished opening size should be used to find the correct size shower door.

Whatever color you order the finish as, the handle and the hinges will match that color finish. Brass is just what they are made of not the finish of the hinges
