Saving Water with Eco Friendly Bathrooms:

Plumbing fixtures and faucets listed as "eco" on our site are required to exceed the following water-efficiency standards:

• Showerheads (includes hand showers and individual body sprays): 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm)*
  
• Faucets: 2.0 gpm*
• Toilets: 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf)*
  
• Tankless Water Heaters:better than .8 Energy Factor and qualify for Federal Tax Credit.
  

* These requirements are based on U.S. Code which have been in place since 1992, and only apply to new fixtures and faucets. As toilets manufactured during the 1980's typically used 3.5 gpf and those older than that used between 5 and 7 gpf, a family of four upgrading older toilets with new low-flow toilets can save more than 100 gallons of water a day. Today's low-flow toilets are engineered to flush much more effectively than those developed in the 1990's, which often took more than one flush to get the job done.
