Drop-In Granite Double Bowl Kitchen Sink from the Swanstone Classics Collection 4 5 1 1
Beautiful sink I took out my 33" cast iron white sink & replaced it with this 33" sink. This sink has sharper corners & different shape than my old sink, even though it was the "same size". I had to have the cutout in the granite countertop enlarged in both directions. It can be dropped in (my choice) or undermounted. Besides the hole in the center, it has 3 knockouts. It looks great with stainless steel fixtures mounted on it. The black surface looks darker when wet, so it shows every water spot, unlike the old white one. After having it for a month, the bottom began to look less black, slightly gray. Scrubbing did no good. Neither did using Weiman Granite Cleaner & Polish, which was recommended by the manufacturer. I read online that olive oil will revive the black luster. I was very skeptical, but I tried it, leaving it on overnight & wiping it off in the morning. I was surprised that the beautiful black finish had returned. Now I to do it about once a month. This also seems to help to keep things from sticking to the sink. We don't really have to scrub the sink, it just rinses clean as long as things aren't allowed to dry on it. When the old enamel sink became scratched, it was only visible when the light reflected directly of the scratch. Unfortunately, this sink easily shows every scratch. After 5 months there is only one tiny scratch & one tiny dull spot, both from unknown causes. We are purposely very careful about not banging around or scraping the sink with metal pots & pans. Although it is a little fragile, I am still glad I bought this beautiful sink & I would do so again. February 2, 2011
