Advantages of Stainless Steel over Enameled Cast Iron or Fireclay:

  • Very durable; will never chip or crack
  • Dishes usually don't break when dropped during dish washing
  • Due to relative weights, stainless steel is generally much easier (and less expensive) to install
  • Nonporous; resists bacteria
  • Neutral color fits into almost any décor - matches stainless steel appliances

Product Technologies / Benefits:

  • Extra Thick, 16 Gauge Stainless Steel: Short of paying thousands of dollars, 16 gauge is as thick as sinks come (22% thicker than 18 gauge; 36% thicker than 20 gauge). Thicker steel means a stronger sink (hence the lifetime warranty) while also offering a richer and more robust appearance to the finish that is easily discernible from the white-washed, cheap look of thinner sinks.
  • Premium Grade T-304 Stainless Steel: There are two primary types of stainless steel in the market: T-409 and the higher quality T-304. The difference lies in chromium and nickel contents; T-409 with 11% and .5% respectively, T-304 with 18% and 10%. When added to steel, these two metals prevent oxidation and rust by neutralizing sodium chloride (salt) – a common element in everyday kitchens. While cheaper sinks use T-409, Kraus sinks boast T-304, further lending to the lifetime warranty.
  • Sound Insulated: Sound insulated steel is commonly only thought of in the automobile industry. There, auto manufacturers use spray-on "Stone Guard" insulation to provide for a quieter ride and protect the steel. Borrowing this technology and adding to it, Kraus sinks use Stone Guard insulation, sprayed over rubber sound dampening pads to create a noticeably lower-tone and overall quieter kitchen sink. It also protects your cabinet from underside condensation drips.
  • Included Dish Grid (Basin Rack) and Basket Strainer (Drain): It's a wonder why dish grids aren't included with all sinks; they serve a valuable role. Not only do they virtually eliminate scratches, they allow the sink to properly drain, preventing sink scum and protecting your cutlery. As with all Kraus sinks, this sink includes the stainless steel sink grid along with the stainless steel basket strainer you'll need for installation.
  • Heavily Certified: Kraus has gone to great lengths to be able to provide you, the homeowner, the rest-easy satisfaction knowing that your sink is certified and listed by all the major product testing boards in the U.S. and Canada. This means that this sink is deemed safe to use and that it meets all applicable building codes. Certifications and listings include: UPC, cUPC, CSA, IAPMO, ANSI and SCC.

Special Note:

  • This kitchen sink is available as a kitchen combo with a number of faucet choices. If you are considering a purchase of this sink and also need a new faucet, we urge you to consider the kitchen combos; they truly are a deal. Kraus KHF200-33 Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the look & size, hate the quality This sink is absolutely gorgeous. It is HUGE with tons of work space. The downside is it scratches & marks too easy, being the hardest guaged steel you can buy in sinks. I have not had this sink even two years yet and there are dark markings/discoloring where the wire rack rests, a white mark which I am not sure where it came from and the surface/ledge is all scratched. If it is this beat up after 18 months, what will it look like in the next 20 years. I am disappointed in that since Kraus comes with such a high quality name.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sink lousy strainer basket First, the sink itself and all Kraus sinks; as I have purchased and installed 7 so far are outstanding sinks for the cost, heavy gauge stst and almost exact trueness to specifications. However, and this is a major flaw preventing them from attaining 5 star rating is the combination stainless and plastic sink strainer basket. It is deeper than standard to allow for the built in strainer basket and this required them to cut some corners on the rest. Its pipe thread waste tail is plastic as is the retention ring than keeps it secure to sink, this will not allow for a tight seal or proper positioning especially after the user may eventually pour hot water through it. The plastic retention ring has its limits to bind up the assembly and is weakened every time you attempt to tighten. Same for threaded tail, every time a brass or plastic female adapter or nut is attached is loosens over time. My solution was to purchase an all brass brushed chrome or stainless steel strainer with no plastic parts. So far no further call backs. Call backs are costly and sometimes embarrassing, to say the least. I can't waste any time as time and money are a premium. Buy the sink throwaway the strainer and buy a solid brass or st st one, it will save you in the long run. I would pay more for the sink if they would supply a proper basket strainer without plastic parts, it was like buying a nice suit and instead of mother of pearl or brass buttons they went with plastic and you know what happens to them eventually they disintegrate. Some one should talk to them...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Showstopper This sink wows everyone who sees it. We combined it with the coiled industrial Kraus faucet and it is beautifully designed, functional (deep sink with design that allows water to flow from the corners to the drain), and the in-sink rack is fantastic. We impressed our designer with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Farmers sink I have purchased this Farmer sink and worried about my choice. I shouldn't have, because it turned out to be just right for me. I love the bigness of it and the depth. I can get any of my pots and pans to fit easily in it to clean. It is so easy to clean and I don't have to worry about chips, as you do with porcelain. It looks great in my new kitchen and gets a lot of ohs and ahhhs.
