Persuade Two Piece Elongated Toilet with 12" Rough In 3.9 5 7 7

Nice looking, but incomplete flush I just had 3 of these toilets installed in my home as part of a major renovation. The builder assured me they use these in many homes. I can't speak to the installation, only performance. The toilet is sleek looking and was ordered with the optional soft-close seat. It's easy to clean...but...you have to clean it often. A member of my household suffers from chronic diarrhea and has to flush TWICE to clear the bowl. It also sometimes spatters out of the bowl while flushing because the flush is very rapid and forceful. I've noticed a few squares of toilet paper don't always go down with with the #1 flush. So I doubt we'll be saving water in the long-run. The interior of the bowl also starts looking dingy and stained within a few days of cleaning, so keep a toilet brush handy! Overall, it's not a terrible toilet, but I wish the flush did a better job of clearing the bowl. July 5, 2011

Skirted toilets can be a pain If your supply is off-center from the outlet and the outlet isn't far enough from the wall, avoid this toilet and, I would guess, any skirted toilet. It won't fit without moving existing supply around! Go for a more traditional base. The toilet may have worked really well, but I just wanted a new toilet. I didn't want to redo my powder room! I am in the process of shipping it back. Instead, I chose a dual flush Sterling with a traditional base. It fits well and it has a 5 year warrantee. June 17, 2011

Fantastic after difficult install Installation took my experienced handyman 5 hours to complete. The house was built in 1918, and the flooring was apparently not level. When I had tile installed a few years ago, the installer didn't bother to level the floor before tiling. End result was the flange had been damaged by the city-provided 1.6 gal. Toto ULFT (cheap quality but free!). I actually changed out that toilet easily myself. The unique mounting system for the new Kohler toilet actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. If I had hired a union plumber, he or she may have taken less than one hour to install, or maybe more than five. I think that cost could equal the cost of the toilet, shipping, and tax. I suggest if you choose this great toilet that you get a flat rate bid, not hourly, for the install. Beautiful look, quiet, dual-flush works perfectly with a payback from water savings of about two years. I wish the quiet-seat option were available, as well as a higher seat, but I may have done inadequate research. Not sure if it qualifies for a rebate - would like to know, but it requires original receipt. I only have a receipt I printed out on my printer from FaucetDirect.com. Advice?? April 24, 2010

Toilet was easy to install, as long as you have a minimum of 12" from the wall to center of the drain. Comes with template, install including drilling and mounting brackets, 45 mins at the most March 21, 2010

Install a pain, but worth it. Installation was annoying, this toliet has two brackets that screw to the floor under the toliet instead of conventional j-bolts to hold it down. More time consuming, but annoying more than anything when trying to get proper alignment with thread-in bolt holes you can't see. Once installed, toliet works & looks great. Dual flush is cool & saves water. Very easy to clean with no crevices to collect filth. February 16, 2010

The Best Toilet! I have had one of these toilets installed and will be getting another one put in. My general contractor had no problems whatsoever with the installation! It works great, looks sleek and is easy to clean with the covered trap. The sani gloss finish in the bowl is another bonus. I did my research and highly recommend this one! February 11, 2010

Great...once it is in I purchased the Kohler persuade toilet about a month ago and had it installed. My easygoing handyman cursed while trying to put this in, it took him about two hours. The toilet itself is great, it flushes so well (even on the .8 gallon flush) that I ordered one for another bathroom. An experienced plumber put this one in. It took him over three hours - and he now swears that if he sees another one, he will refuse to intall it. Apparently there is no wiggle room in installation, everything needs to be exact - so in an older home with imperfect surfaces, this is a real challenge. For function once it has been installed, I do not think the Kohler persuade can be beat. Works far better than our old 3.5 gpf toilets. It looks really great. And, apparently, not many people in my city will have one, since the word is out and nobody would be willing to install it. So I give it a high recommendation, with reservations regarding installation. July 17, 2008

How does this toilet compare to the K-3723?

The Kohler K-3654 is almost exactly the same as the K-3723, the only difference is the K-3654 is more efficient and uses .8GPF instead of 1GPF for non-solid waste.

Please recommend a seat(s) that will fit this toilet. Do you have a "soft-close seat such as the one that comes with the Saile toilet?

The Kohler K-4636 toilet seat would be a good slow close pairing to the Saile toilets.
