Kindred extended its product lines to include food preparation centres, vanity basins, and laundry and bar sinks; launched the prestigious Kindred Collection of luxury kitchen and bath sinkware in premium stainless steel and new colour styling; and established a strong marketing presence with leading distributors in over 25 countries around the world.  Along the way, Kindred has been honoured with two Canada Awards for Business Excellence in Labor-Management Relations (1988) and in Marketing (1994).

In November of 1998 Kindred become the 13th manufacturing company in the Kitchen Systems Division of Franke Holdings AG.  This strategic acquisition has made Kindred (or Franke Kindred Canada Limited as we are now known), in partnership with its two sister companies in North America, the second largest sink manufacturer on the continent.
