When the twentieth century turned one-year old, visionaries seemed to appear on all horizons. Guglielmo Marconi sent the first transatlantic wireless message, and Pablo Picasso's first exhibition opened in Paris. In both the arts and sciences, imagination fueled extraordinary achievements. It is in this creative environment that Hans Grohe started to re-envision the shower and instill what would become a company-defining commitment to innovation. 

Hans focused on making the shower both beautiful and functional-uniting the essences of art and science. During the first decade of the twentieth century, Hans already supplied shower products to consumers across Europe, yet the company he founded was hardly content with past developments. 

By 1928, consumers in over half a dozen countries welcomed the soothing waters of Hansgrohe's showers. In the same year, porcelain-gripped handshowers first appeared in the company's catalog. A little over a decade later, Hansgrohe's innovation led to the world's first fully adjustable wallbar, adding a new vision to shower versatility. 

Hansgrohe's innovative endurance continued to illuminate the industry in the last decades of the century with inventions like Quick-Clean and Turbo-Clean self-cleaning systems. Today, Rub-It self-cleaning technology and Raindance have extended Hansgrohe's supremacy as the leading shower innovator into the twenty-first century.
