Can I keep my existing shower valve and trim and just attach this to the shower head spout?

The Grohe 27 421 can be used with your exsiting shower trim and valve. I would recommend speaking with your contractor first.

Is this CSA approved?

The Grohe 27 421 is CSA approved.

What kind of wall supply elbow is needed for this product?

The Grohe 27 421 does not require a wall supply elbow. The item is installed as a standard shower installation with a built in diverter. Can the heigh of the Grohe 27 421 be adjusted or cut to accomodate various shower heights?

The Grohe 27 421 is aprox 40" in height and can be placed at your desired level.

Was is the size of the showerhead that is attached and can I attach another shower head from Grohe or another company?

The shower head is 6 5/16" in diameter. You can attach any head with a 1/2" connection.

Could I use Grohe 34 182 thermostat with this shower set?

The Grohe 27 421 can be used with the 34 182.

The Grohe 27 421 will also need a pressure balance valve to control turning water on and off and temp, here are a few grohe list to go with it Grohe 19 457, 19 312, 19 411, 19 595, 19 866 & many more.

Is this a fully self-contained system, i.e. built-in temperature/volume controls, exposed rough-in, etc. or are other items required to make this fully functional?

The Grohe 27 421 is the shower head and handheld only, you would still need a valve and shower trim to make it fully functional.

Is this product availble in Brushed Nickel?

Unfortunately, the Grohe 27 421 is not available in Brushed Nickel.

There are two silver hoses in this system. One of them connects to the hand held shower and the other is supposed to be connected to a rough in? If that's correct than it means that one of the hoses will go right into the wall, right?

The Grohe 27 421 has only one hose which connects to the diverter on the exposed shower pipe and the other end to the hand shower

I bought this item, the rough in valve, and the Grohe 19347 shower valve, how is the water fed into the shower system? I fail to see where it connects.

The hot and cold water supplies attach to the rough in valve.

Is there a valve from another barand that I can use with this system that would include both temperature, pressure control as well as on/off?

The Grohe 27 421 is not meant to be combined with any other valve, trim, or feature.

When I add this item to the cart, it does not give me an option to purchase the rough-ins like some of the other products do, are the rough-ins included with this purchase?

The Grohe 27 421 is a shower pipe with hand shower and shower head. This unit requires a shower trim and rough-in to operate
