Delta R10000-UNWS There is not much you can say about a rough in valve - it either works or it doesn't. What I very much appreciated, was FaucetDirect's offering of either the 'with stops' or 'without' at checkout of the trim. Having the choice at check out is so much easier than trying to find the trim with the rough you want as a set mixed in with the millions of options available. This feature from FaucetsDirect made the purchase easier. BTW - I highly recommend the screw stops in every application. January 12, 2011

Does the R10000-UNWS accept 1/2 cpvc? What would I need to do to use this valve? Thanks

No, the Delta R10000-UNWS will not accept 1/2 cpvc.

how do you turn off water supply to shower only and not shut off water supply to other fixtures ?

The Delta R10000-UNWS does not have the screwdriver stops to shut off the water.

I am planning out a shower install using the T17038 and T11800 trim. I know I need the R11000 for the diverter but is the R10000 the correct valve to use for the main? I will not have a tub, this is shower only.

The Delta R10000-UNWS is the correct valve to use on the main control. You simply cap off the bottom port if you do not have a tub.

If the water is crossed on the rough in is there a way to correct it within the valve?

If the hot and cold water inlets are crossed, there is no way to correct it within the Delta R10000-UNWS.

Does R10000-UNWS accept 1/2" copper sweat?

Yes, the R10000-UNWS will accept 1/2" copper sweat.

How do you adjust the hot water control that prevents scalding?

The scald guard should be in the thermostatic cartridge.

what trim is available for this valve?

The Delta T17030 works with the R10000-UNWS. This rough-in valve is very universal so there are many trims that work with it. That is just one example.

What is the difference between the R10000-UNWS, UNBX, &UNBXT

The Delta R10000 is a very versatile piece. The UNBX is the generic rough-in. The UNBXT is the same valve that has been built to accept single, dual, or dual Delta thermostatic cartridges for temperature control. The UNWS is the valve with screwdriver stops, which allow one to shut the water supply off from the valve by simply screwing the stops down rather than cutting off the entire water supply.

Will the Delta T11840 trim kit match the R10000UNWS valve?

The Delt T11840 is a diverter valve trim and is to be used with the R11000 valve.
