Universal T/S Valve Body with Back-to-Back Capability 4.8 5 22 41
Good product, better supplier The Delta valve and cover are certainly acceptably good products, though the instructions for setting the water temperature are both poorly written and hidden in an arcanely designed PDF file (not at all available in the written matter with packaged with the product). That is, you have to go online to Delta and search for the proper product insturctions and then ... good luck. August 6, 2011
Works great Nice anti-scald feature allows you to adjust the maximum hot water flow. Easy to position, as they give you plenty of room for error with relation to the finished surface level of the wall. I did have a plumber install this for me; I don't do soldering... July 23, 2011
Well-Designed Valve This is a substantial, well-designed valve compared to the 20 year-old old one I broke trying to repair a dripping faucet. Soldered copper connections were easily installed (by a pro plumber), and the faucet cartridge, handles, and trim attached according to instructions with no problems. July 13, 2011
Just average The installation was easy but the flow is lacking. Knowing what I know now I would have gone with a high flow model since I was installing a tub without a shower. May 30, 2011
Easy Installation, Great Price We purchased this valve for a bathroom remodel. We bought a Delta shower/tub kit and needed the rough-in valve, it cost way more everywhere else I looked. It was easy to install and works perfectly. Our old one would not fit the newer tub diverter we purchase and this was the right choice. The price was better than anything else I found online or in stores locally. May 1, 2011
Did the job great. April 20, 2011
perfect fit This came with everything needed to simply mount in the wall and tile around it. It works great, precision made. The trim and pipe work fit like gloves on to this valve rough in body. April 19, 2011
Exact match! I had no idea I would need this valve but it was highly recommended on the site when I purchased the shower fixture. I ordered the suggested one and it was perfect and just what was required according to my plumber. SO, don't forget you might need a valve too. April 16, 2011
Good as expected. It is a Delta valve. Delta quality is good as expected. If you need to use it in a shower remember it does not come with a plug for bottom port. No big deal just need to get one. January 1, 2011
Truly universal. I appreciated the note that came with our Rizu showerhead and handle to purchase the rough in valve to make the shower functional. I needed to purchase a second rough in valve to make our hand held shower functional. December 30, 2010

do I need this for the Delta rain showerhead or is this for a tub faucet

This is the rough in valve for a tub and/or shower. This is what controls the water flow (on/off/temp)to your system whether it is to a shower head or tub spout. You need valve trim that attaches on the outside of the wall to this rough in valve.

Is there anywhere that is open on Sunday tomorrow and I can pick it up since I need it tomorrow?

We are only an online company that doesn't have any stores to pick up from.

What trims are available for this valve body?

The Delta R10000-UNBX is the rough in valve for almost all Delta shower trims. There are very few Delta trims that do not work with this valve.

whats' the difference between R10000-UNBX and R10000-IP?

The difference between the Delta R10000-UNBX and the R10000-Ip is the connection type. One Sweats onto 1/2" C.W.T. and the other threads onto 1/2 IPS.

Is this valve compatable with the Brizo shower trims?

Unfortunately, no. This is not compatible with Brizo.

what is the difference between the Delta R10000-UNBX and the Delta R10000 IPWS

The Delta R10000-UNBX has externally threaded ports and the R10000-IPWS has internal threading.

What is the flow rate, at 40PSI, of this valve?

The Delta R10000-UNBX has a flow rate of about 8.0 GPM.

Why do I need the R10000-UNBX and also the R11000 diverter rough-in? What is the function of each?

The Delta R10000-UNBX is a standard shower valve. You will use the R11000 if you plan to divert the water to another source (i.e. handheld unit, etc.).

Will R10000-UNBX valve work with T17255 trim?

Yes, the Delta T17255 is compatible with the Delta R10000-UNBX.

Can I use this valve body with a Moen fixture? It appears identical.

No, valves & trim are very manufacturer specific & will not work with the trim or valve of another manufacturer. You will have to get a Moen valve if you'd like to install Moen fixtures.

What is the difference between the Delta R10000-UNBX and the Delta R10000-UN?

Functionally there is no difference in the two models. The BX indicates a single box model.

What is the difference between the R10000-UNBX and R10000-UNWS? I'm planning to purchase the T17T055-RB shower control.

The Delta R10000-UNBX 1/2 Inch Rough-In is the same as the R10000-UNWS 1/2 Inch Rough-In, but the latter of the two has a service stop at the valve. This means that if you had a leak or if you were servicing another fixture in the bathroom, you could just turn off the bath/shower and still have the function of the sink and toilet or whatever other fixtures you have. With other valves, you would have to turn off the main water supply. If you need to shut off water to the valve, you just remove the handle and there is a flat-head screw to turn.

Will this connect directly to 1/2 cpvc using solvent, not requiring any adapters?

The Delta R10000-UNBX will connect to 1/2" supply with out any adapter. If you look at the installation guide under the product details it will go through the full process for installation. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Is this pressure balanced

The Delta R10000-UNBX is not pressure balanced but it does work with thermostatic trims.

Is this valve low lead compliant?

No, the Delta R10000-UNBX is not low-lead compliant.

Will water flow first to the tub spout below this valve and then up to the shower when the tub spout diverter is closed?

Yes that is correct it will go to a tub spout first.

Like many retailers, FaucetDirect.com can choose to set its own prices independently. And even though manufacturers require FaucetDirect.com and other retailers to display a product's "minimum advertised price" (or MAP), the retailer can choose to sell for less than that.
