Met my expectations I am absolutely pleased with this faucet and it's above my expectations. Nice looking, easy to use and elevated enough to be able to rinse large cooking utensils easily. Very happy with this product and would recommend it to other customers. November 4, 2011

Big and Bold This faucet is oversized from your run of the mill ones. Makes quite a statement. Works fantastically. Love the magnetic retainer for the pull out sprayer. The other brands just use a plastic friction insert which swells and makes pulling out difficult over time. This one is delightfully easy. Takes a bit of getting used to pulling or pushing the control handle towards or away from you to control temp. But you get used to it. Now, if it will only last more than three years! Delivery was on time, great people to deal with. Would definitely use them again. September 30, 2011

Pass on this one Beautiful faucet but, unfortunately, the sprayer does not function well. During full stream spray, it drips through the multi-sprayer holes and continues to drip after turning off. Does the brilliance stainless match the stainless steel or the arctic stainless color in the coordinating soap dispenser?

The Delta 9178-DST Brilliance Stainless and Stainless steel will be a direct match.

If this is going in a brand new sink, what all extra do we need? Flange? Strainer? Etc?

The flange and basket strainer are sold seperately and you will need one or the other for a new sink.

What accessories do we need for installing this in a brand new sink?

You don't need to buy anything else to install this in a brand new sink. However you may need a basket strainer or flange and garbage disposal for your sink. And you can buy a soap dispenser or air gap to go next to the faucet.

Can the handle be installed on the left side?

The Delta 9178-DST can be installed on the left.

Does this include a cover plate for existing holes?

The Delta 9178-DST does include an optional escutcheon plate that is used to cover additional holes for an 8" spread sink.

Can the handle be installed in front?

The Delta 9178-DST can only be installed with the handle on the right side.

does the 9178 stay locked in spray mode,or do you have to keep pressing the button? does it turn on in a 2 step process-first pulling back,and then turning left for hot and right for cold? in the chrome finish , it appears in the picture to have a 2 tone finish-is that only the camera flash?

The Delta 9178-DST is designed to toggle from the standard aerated stream to spray mode. You do not have to keep pressing the button. This faucet does turn on by first pulling back, then left to right for hot and cold. The finish of chrome is not a two tone finish; those are shadows that make it appear to have a two tone finish.

Does this come in a low lead version? Is it advisable to order the low lead options even if not in Ca or Vt required states? Also are there also coordinating sink basket strainers and disposer stops for the venetian bronze finish?

The Delta 9178-DST is Low Lead Compliant for purchase in California or Vermont.

Is the spout portion metal or coated ABS plastic? Many faucets I've seen have the pull out nozel portion in a plastic material even though the finish matches the body of the faucet. Could not find this info anywhere.

the specifications on #9178 show under cabinet measurements of 35" and 33 1/2". Our cabinet only measures 29 1/2", will we be able to install this faucet?

The measurements you found on the Delta 9178-DST are actually the straight length measurements of the water supply lines, which are flexible and can be twisted up to install out of the way. No worries about having a cabinet that is too small!!

What is the difference in Arctic stainless and brilliance stainless?

The Delta 9178-DST in Brilliance Stainless is a standard stainless steel finish. Arctic stainless is a much colder brushed stainless tone.
