Rough Valve Body: Durable quality that will last a lifetime. Ideal material for prolonged contact with water.
Ceramic Disc Valve Cartridge: Assures a lifetime of drip-free performance. Allows easy control over both water temperature and volume.
Pressure Balancing Valve Cartridge: Maintains constant output temperature in response to changes in relative hot and cold supply pressure. Diaphragm system engineered to eliminate cross flow. Avoids failure due to mineral deposits - ideal for use in hard water.
Adjustable Hot Limit Safety Stop: Limits the amount of hot water allowed to mix with cold. Reduces the risk of accidental scalding.
Exclusive Plaster Guard: Plaster guard is designed to protect valve during installation and serve as a mounting plate for thin-wall installations. Two piece design allows valve to be tested prior to trim installation.

A tiny space - a spectacular bath My bathroom was designed by idiots. We demolished it down to a cement floor and the studs. We were able to turn a 5 x 6 s[ace into a beautiful and functional room. I spent hours on the faucetsdirect web site. The time was well spent I found everythibg I wanted at a priceI could afford. This rain shower head is wonderful. I could stand under it until the hot water runs out. My other favorite fixture is a Toto toilet and a washlet. Service was excellent. August 26, 2011

A. The American Standard T430.501 has a shower arm included. The shower arm extends 12 inches out from the wall.

Does this unit come with a tub spout & diverter? Not shown in pix.

A. No, this is a shower only. A tub and shower would come with a tub spout and diverter but a shower only does not. The American Standard T430.502 is the tub and shower trim from this series. Thanks

Can the shower head height be more an 5?

A. Yes. We also have: American Standard 1660.683 10" Modern Rain Shower Head.

do you have to use this specific rough-in valve? or can it be from an existing shower head/trim kit?

A. The American Standard T430.501 requires a specific rough-in valve - we suggest using the R110SS or R115SS Valves. The R110SS has Direct Sweat Connections with Service Stops, and the R115SS valve has Female Thread Inlets with Service Stops. While an older American Standard valve might possibly work, another brand valve simply will not.

A. The American Standard T430.501 must be installed with a rough in valve. The rough in valve for this model is the American Standard R110ss.

Can this shower head be installed on the Green Tea shower arm and flange (part #M9626270020A)? Also, it appears on this shower set that the control is for both volume and temperature. Is that correct?

A. The American Standard T430.501 is capable of being installed on other shower arms, and the valve does control the hot, cold and pressure.

A. We do have just the trim for the American Standard T430.501. The item number is American Standard T430.500.

What are the difference between these rough-in valves: R110, R110SS, R115, R115SS, R117, and R117SS? And what is the recommended model to be used with this shower?

A. The American Standard T430.501 is recommended for use with all these valves. The differences are: the R110 requires a copper connection. The 'SS' is the screwdriver stops. This means it has set screws, that when tightened, shut off the water to the shower head. The R115 is the IPS version, meaning it requires threaded iron pipe. The R117 is for Pex Pipe and requires a pex pipe connection.

I currently have American Standard Hampton which uses R110 valve. I noticed a question answered below regarding valve and you mentioned R110SS. What's the difference between R110 and R110SS? Will I be able to use this model .501 with just R110 (minus SS)?

A. The American Standard T430.501 will work with either the R110 or the R110SS. The R110SS has the screwdriver stops while the R1100 does not.
