escutcheon not required We recently installed the American Standard faucet #2064.010 purchased from Faucet Direct. It is well made and stylish and very secure on the counter without the use of the escutcheon. The escutcheon takes away from the modern elements of the faucet and we are in the process of returning it. March 7, 2010

The interior designer I am using also feels that the escutcheon would detract from the overall effect. But I can't resist knowing more. Approximately what size and shape is the escutcheon.

The American Standard 2064.101P is 4" long and is oblong in shape.
